Bchainfiy Bikes-on-Chain a niche Supply Chain Solution Inspired from our bchainify-supply-chain project, a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) supply chain solution for a fairtrade peer-to-peer token economy using Chainlink's Secure and Private Blockchain Middleware Platform and submitted in the Chainlink Hackathon Spring 2021

Inspiration

We want to take our #market-on-chain dApp to the next level by focusing on niche market areas. Our team is composed of bike enthusiasts so we are building a niche market-on-chain for Bike parts called `Bikes-on-Chain’ to demonstrate the power of fulfilling market supply chain shortages in a peer-to-peer decentralized marketplace. There are unlimited use cases in the niche goods, collectibles, and makerspace and we aim to build a platform that disrupts the law of supply-and-demand with centralized supply chains in favor of a Web3 broadcast-balance-build decentralized supply chain model. We have submitted our application for Tachyon's Filecoin Launchpad Accelerator program to get advisory services from industry leaders, seed capital, tools, mentorship, and programming assistance to realize our dream.

Team Vision

Our vision is to unite consumer-distributor communities and BUIDL’ers to advance cognoscenti peer-to-peer economies and culture by building and sharing goods and services using blockchain technologies in our virtual marketplace community platform. We aim to build a platform that incorporates a new proof-of-supply consensus algorithm for autonomous broadcast-balance-build supply management with "have" and "want" time-stamped geographical supply chain indicators. Future capabilities are possible with the use of AI/ML, decentralized prediction markets, and proof-of-authenticity models for goods, services, and inventions

Team Description

The team originally met at the Wyoming Hackathon 2020 and won the WyoHackathon 2020 Blockchain Voting Challenge. The team also placed in two categories at ETHDenver & ColoradoJam 2021 with their Token MEME project, aimed to educate the next generation about blockchain and cryptocurrency. We recently developed Chainvote a Corporate Governance dApp for the Solana Foundation x Serum DeFi Hackathon 2021, and a Market-on-Chain supply chain dApp for the Chainlink Spring 2021 Hackathon.

We are a diverse blockchain team that focuses on using the next generation of decentralized technologies and platforms for secure, open, transparent, and reliable peer-to-peer decentralized applications (dApps) for people like us, for us, because of us, a new virtual market place community!

The Problem & Solution

Analogous to how retail investors are upsetting Wall Street with new mediums of social trading, outplaying traditional institutions, our target user-base is "cognoscenti'' experts, hobbyists, and aficionados in a particular marketplace aka specialty or vertical, for a good or service. Current traditional platforms such as eBay, Craiglist, Amazon, and even more recent blockchain marketplace platforms such as OpenSea do not allow holders of "a good" to broadcast and visualize inventory; track or predict supply chain trends and market needs; or predict new creation, production, and distribution with a trusted peer-to-peer driven autonomous network. A unified cognoscenti-peer-to-peer platform is needed.

Today’s global supply chain unfairly drives competition and manipulates value and supply. They are complex and lack transparency making them subject to manipulation, delays, errors, and fraud. Our team wanted to tackle the problem of the supply chain for specialized industries and areas of expertise.

Our idea was first unveiled in March 2021 as a Hackathon project, Market-on-Chain supply chain dApp for the Chainlink Spring 2021 Hackathon. We showcased two user stories from expert enthusiasts, (collectibles and bikes) to show an alternative decentralized market-on-chain approach using off-chain Oracles and a well-known blockchain platform to demonstrate peer-to-peer specialty supply chain management.

Our solution uses Oracles to pull in product information from multiple off-chain data sources including:

  • GS1 US Data Hub Universal Product Code (UPC) The United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and many other countries generally use barcodes known as Universal Product Codes (UPCs).

  • Global Trade Identifier (GTIN13) The GTIN is a globally unique 14-digit number used to identify trade items, products, or services. GTIN is also an umbrella term that refers to the entire family of UCC.

  • International Article Number (EAN) & EAN13 (European Article Number an extension of UPC) Merchants in Europe and other areas around the world often use a barcode type known as an International Article Number (EAN, since it was formerly known as European Article Number).

  • International Standard Book Number (ISBN) Books often use the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) barcode format, which is compatible with EAN barcodes.

  • Amazon (ASIN) Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) is a ten-digit alphanumeric code that identifies products on Amazon. It's unique for each product and is assigned when you create a new product in Amazon's catalog.

And many more.... Our solution also aims to support custom off-chain data sources to create custom QR-Codes with information for the product or good using various mediums of exchange.
