Dependency-light tests for the pure manifest/content-addressing module:
hash determinism, key formats, manifest round-trip, copy-on-write skip,
carry-forward of unrendered entries, and hist-epoch handling. Kept off
the main branch since the project has no test infrastructure;
requirements-dev.txt and pytest.ini are scoped to backend/.
