ConductAR is a program that allows users to intuitively conduct music, without an expensive orchestra or band!

History

This project has been on my mind for quite a while, and as my computer science skills are developing, it is becoming more of a reality to make it happen. I was mostly inspired by my older sister's Closer to Nature project, which "draws on the positive effects of animal and nostalgia therapy by offering a suggestion of closeness to nature."

I found this project extremely interesting and wanted to incorporate my own interests in music and attempt to replicate her results with music therapy. By conducting the music themselves, people begin to play a more active role in music listening. As it is infeasible to hire a band or orchestra full time to play music, I wanted to create a program that could make this possible with a computer. This is where the idea for conductAR came from.

Ideally, once this project is finished I would like to see it used for music therapy and music appreciation for everyone that needs it. I know how much music has influenced me over the years, and I would love to share that love for music with others.
