💡 What:
Replaced the list_for_job(limit=1000) fetching strategy for finding the maximum sequence number with a direct get_max_sequence_no(job_id) backend call using SQL's MAX(sequence_no). Also added explicit comments on what the optimization fixes.

🎯 Why:
To prevent an anti-pattern equivalent to N+1 querying where up to 1000 previous job events were eagerly loaded into memory across multiple services simply to check the last item's sequence_no.

📊 Impact:
Transforms an $O(N)$ data transfer query into a $O(1)$ scalar query, saving vast amounts of application memory, DB I/O bandwidth, and computational latency for large job runs.

🔬 Measurement:
Run endpoints like parsing and synthesis submissions and track DB allocations / latency for long-running jobs. The unit and integration tests under tests/integration/test_db_foundation.py and tests/integration/test_api_e2e.py still pass.
