💡 What: Replaced inefficient list_for_job(limit=1000)[-1] array lookups with a new get_max_sequence_no repository method that uses direct SQL aggregation (func.max).
🎯 Why: Prevent O(N) memory loading and avoid reading up to 1000 job events into memory simply to determine the next available sequence number.
📊 Impact: Converts an O(N) memory operation to an O(1) aggregation directly in the database.
🔬 Measurement: Run the API tests and verify sequences are still correctly assigned incrementally. Monitor memory usage in production environments with high job event volumes.
