Goal

• Implement SRE principles by analyzing local system performance and setting up external website monitoring.

Changes

• Monitored CPU, Memory, and I/O usage using htop and iostat.
• Analyzed disk saturation and identified large log and Docker volume files in /var.
• Set up a real-time monitoring suite on Checkly for google.com.
• Configured API availability checks and Playwright-based browser content validation.
• Established email alerting channels for proactive incident detection.

Testing

• Verified Task 1: Confirmed resource consumption patterns and identified disk cleanup opportunities.
• Verified Task 2: Successfully executed browser checks from global runners with 100% availability.
• Confirmed alert settings are active in the Checkly dashboard.
