After all that code, I decided it would be good to consolidate my redundant code in various places. Primarily this allows the
--configtestto use much the same parsing code as the reload_config() method itself, which guarantees future changes between them do not diverge. It also makes things a bit easier to maintain going forward. I tried not to go much beyond my own code, so I left as much of your code intact as possible.
