About me

I've spent 11+ years building backend and APIs, from Peru to Argentina to Spain. Today I'm Tech Lead for the AI APIs at Magnific (Freepik), and I own the API product end to end: architecture and engineering, plus pricing, monetization and roadmap. I built Magnific's first MCP server and led the migration from pay as you go to a usage based credits system. Over one year the API product grew its revenue about 5x.

I work AI first: I run a multi agent setup with Claude Code, one per repository, and I treat LLMs, MCP and agents as real accelerators. I care about clean API contracts (OpenAPI), reliable gateways, and billing that adds up. I'm a hands on individual contributor at heart: I want to keep shipping product with AI, close to the code.

I've worked with cloud infrastructure for years, first on AWS and now on Google Cloud. Day to day I write Python, PHP with Laravel, and Lua (APISIX plugins), on top of Kubernetes (I live in k9s) and containers. Contracts in OpenAPI, auth with OAuth2, and gateways with Apache APISIX and Apigee. Async messaging with Google Pub/Sub. Observability with Grafana, Kibana and OpenSearch. Persistence and search with PostgreSQL, Redis, Memcached and Elasticsearch.

I've built billing and monetization end to end: Stripe and Chargebee for subscriptions and usage based billing, plus PayPal and Coinbase. I published Enterprise plans on the Google Cloud and AWS marketplaces, a distribution channel that did not exist before. I document the API with Mintlify (I evaluated and adopted it), and I run the go to market of each release with Slack and marketing: emails, plan changes, and new subscriptions.
