Like all projects, this one began with a design phase. This Wiki page is for information purposes only, as it is not necessary for the physical creation of k3plush. You can go to this Wiki page (Electronics) to start learning about the stages involved in actually building k3plush.

First of all, with the help of my tutor Damien Brun, I thought about the specifics of this game controller. What we wanted was a cubic game controller with five functional sides, each with four buttons on each side (2x2 matrix). The last face was to be used for internal access and for installing the activation mechanism, as well as for attaching the electronics. We also wanted the cube to be neither too large for ease of handling nor too small for ease of construction: 12x12x12 cm seemed a good size.

Project specifications

For better visualization, I built a cardboard version of the controller.

Then I moved on to the electronics (Electronics).
