Found the purpose of an unknown byte. 0xF0 in the course header is for the sound effect id placed on Mario. The sound plays continually if it is a song, or plays when Mario dies when it is a sound effect.
Fixed offset 0x48 + 0x20 * 2600 = 0x14548 and not 0x14584
