This repository contains data and code for a research project investigating the potential link between heatwaves and an increase in atopic dermatitis (AD) flare-ups.
The dataset includes de-identified patient data, comprising:
- Unique patient IDs
- ICD-10 codes (3-letter)
- CCSR codes
- Relevant dates
To determine if there is a statistically significant increase in AD flare-ups during periods of heatwaves. This analysis will follow a similar approach to existing research that examined the impact of particulate matter on health outcomes.
Currently focused on data preparation and cleaning. Further steps will involve:
- Defining and identifying heatwave periods.
- Conducting statistical analysis.
