When you first boot GhostPaper OS, you will be prompted to set a 6-digit Security PIN.
- This PIN is stored in NVS (Non-Volatile Storage) and will be required every time the device wakes up or boots.
- If you need to reset your PIN, you must clear the NVS flash or use the "Reset" option if available in the settings menu.
The dashboard is your central hub. It displays:
- Time/Date: Synced via RTC.

Weather: Real-time updates from
wttr.in. - System Stats: Battery percentage and storage health.
- Resume Widget: Tap the book title to jump back into your last read page.
- Navigation: Tap the right side of the screen for "Next", left side for "Prev".
- Options Menu: Tap the center of the screen while reading to open the Reader Menu.
- Typography: Change font size (0.4x - 2.5x) or toggle between Serif and Sans-Serif fonts.
- TOC: Access the Table of Contents to jump between chapters.
- Ensure WiFi is configured.
- Open the Store from the Library or Dashboard.
- Browse the Project Gutenberg catalog.
- Tap GET to download. Books are saved directly to the SD card as
.txtfiles.
- Navigate to Sync on the device.
- Scan the displayed QR Code with your phone or computer.
- Use the web interface to upload
.txtfiles wirelessly. - The device will automatically refresh the library once you stop the sync.
