A Windows utility that saves and restores window positions and sizes for your applications.
This application allows you to:
- Save window positions and sizes for any application
- Automatically restore windows to their saved positions
- Manage multiple window layout profiles
- Keep important windows always on top
- Visually highlight windows for easy identification
- Create quick layouts that can be restored with a single click
The application supports multiple profiles, allowing you to save different window layouts for different scenarios. Select a profile from the dropdown menu in the top-right corner.
The application minimizes to the system tray. Double-click the tray icon to show/hide the main window. Right-click for additional options:
- Show GUI - Opens the main interface
- Start/Stop Auto Moving - Enables/disables automatic window positioning
- Capture Current Layout - Saves all current window positions to the active profile or another profile
- Create Quick Layout - Creates a minimized form in the taskbar that can restore the current layout or a specific profile's layout with a single click
- Switch Profile - Quickly change between saved profiles
- Exit - Closes the application
Shows all currently running applications. Select an app to view or edit its position and size settings.

Quick layouts allow you to save the current window layout to a minimized form in the taskbar. Clicking this form will restore all windows to their saved positions and sizes with a single click, making it easy to switch between different window arrangements.
Important: Quick layouts operate as independent applications. Once created, they continue to function even if you close the main Save Window Position and Size application. This makes them perfect for quickly restoring common window arrangements without needing the main app running.
Click the Quick Layout button to access its context menu:
- Create from Current Layout - Creates a quick layout based on the current window arrangement
- Create from Profile - Creates a quick layout based on windows in a specific profile without switching to that profile
Click the Capture Layout button to access its context menu:
- Current Profile - Replaces all windows in the current profile with the current window layout
- [Profile Names] - Captures the current window layout to a specific profile without switching to it
These context menus allow for powerful, flexible management of window layouts without disrupting your current workspace.
- Refresh All Apps (↻) - Updates the list of running applications
- Ignore List (🚫) - Opens the ignore list manager
- Quick Layout (📌) - Creates a minimized form in the taskbar for quick layout restoration
- Capture Layout (📷) - Captures the current window arrangement to the current or another profile
- Refresh Window (↻) - Updates the selected window's current position and size
- Save (💾) - Saves the current window settings to the active profile

↔️ ) - Restores all saved windows in the active profile - Timer Toggle (▶/⏹) - Starts or stops the automatic window positioning timer
- Nickname - Custom display name for the window
- Position X/Y - Window's screen coordinates
- Width/Height - Window's dimensions
- Auto Position - When checked, automatically restores this window's position periodically
- Keep on Top - When checked, keeps the window always on top of other windows
- Use Percentages - When checked, uses percentage values instead of pixels for position and size
⚠️ Note: The Use Percentages feature is experimental and not fully working yet. Use with caution.
- Auto Position Interval - How often (in minutes) the application checks and restores window positions
- Skip confirmation dialogs - When checked, certain operations will proceed without confirmation prompts
- Minimize other windows on profile switch - When checked, all other windows will be minimized when switching profiles, showing only the windows saved in that profile
- Auto-start timer on application start - When checked, the auto-positioning timer will start automatically when the application launches
- Arrange your windows as desired on your screen
- Click the Refresh All Apps button to update the running apps list
- Select the app you want to save from the list
- The app details will populate in the middle section
- Adjust settings if needed (position, size, nickname, etc.)
- Click the Save button to save the window to the current profile
- Repeat for all windows you want to save
Use the "Capture Current Layout" option from either:
- The system tray menu
- The Capture Layout button on the main interface
You can capture to the current profile or any other profile without switching to it.
- Arrange your windows as desired on your screen
- Click the "Create Quick Layout" button (📌) or select it from the system tray menu
- Choose to create from the current layout or from a specific profile
- A minimized form will be created in the taskbar
- Click this form at any time to restore all windows to their saved positions
Note: Quick layouts remain functional even after closing the main application. This allows you to set up common window arrangements and restore them with a single click without keeping the main app running.
- Select a saved app and click the Restore button to restore just that window
- Click the Restore All button to restore all saved windows in the current profile
- Enable Auto Position for windows you want automatically maintained at their saved positions
- Click on a Quick Layout form in the taskbar to restore all windows in that layout
- Use the start/stop button (▶/⏹) next to the countdown timer to manually control the auto-positioning feature
- Configure the timer to auto-start when the application launches via the Settings dialog
Select a saved app in the Saved Apps list and press the Delete key to remove it from the profile.
Add applications to the ignore list if:
- They appear in the running apps list but don't have visible windows
- You don't want them to be affected by the automatic positioning feature
You can add apps to the ignore list by right-clicking an app in the Running Apps list and selecting "Ignore".
When you select a window from either list, the application will briefly highlight it with a red border to help you identify it on screen.
