I wonder if this is something we could fix in the kernel so a boot parameter isn't necessary?

Customer on gaze11 verifies that switching to native backlight control returns backlight control to a working state.

@jacobgkau : I suspect that you are correct but I did not have a easy way to boot 6.1 kernels to test.
