Here is a suggestion on how to add pyenv and poetry to manage the python environment for this repository. This makes it a bit easier to control dependencies, and upgrade to newer python versions. I have also added a makefile, to automate the setup process.
I have also upgraded the versions of most of the packages, and updated to python 3.8.12. I have run all notebooks without errors. There are just some warnings about some deprecated functions, due to the new versions of some of the libraries.
