Adding a license for the project

This may not be popular, but I think we need to slow down a bit on the
license thing. This is after all KC's and now Michael's baby. There are
significant ramifications to which license is chosen and does KC/Michael
even want to make this true open source. I am an OS evangelist, just ask
my boss, but these types of decisions should not be made willy-nilly. The
ASF license has some clauses in it that I personally do not like and to be
honest, I don't think it is our place to make these kinds of decisions. We
can advise, but that is all I see my role as right now.

Ok, I have no issue with that -- but the Jetbrains items that are free for open source projects require this sort of documentation.

Which Jetbrains tools are they, and what benefit do they add? We'll
probably end up doing it eventually anyway, but unless we urgently need
them now, it might be an idea to wait off a little bit. It might only be
waiting a week or two, it might be a month or two; but just a bit of
time for the dust to settle would be good. It probably won't change
anything, but I don't know of any compelling reason to rush into it
headfirst right away?
