NI DAQ based data acquisition

The GUI team is closely affiliated with a group of neuroscientists working to simplify the digitization of neural data via National Instruments analog-to-digital converters.

When it's complete, the ArtE system will enable 256 channels of data to be acquired through a more traditional signal chain: preamplifier to amplifier to ADC. This is the tried-and-true method of data acquisition that's used by almost every commercial system, and has provided countless of hours of reliable recordings for labs around the world. However, ArtE surpasses these systems by making it trivial to broadcast data over a local network for online visualization and analysis. By incorporating a simple network source node, the GUI can be on the receiving end of these broadcasts.

If our efforts to develop a more radical custom acquisition board fail, or if labs are looking for a more time-tested recording solution, the GUI can easily be configured to process data from ArtE.
