* fix: sync selection to split pane when comparing different versions Previously the split pane's SelectionProvider used a boolean `isolated` prop that was either fully connected or fully disconnected from the URL selection state. When comparing a different version, the right pane could both read and write selection, potentially interfering with the main pane's selection on user interaction. …#418) * fix: preserve ?search and ?section through the URL normalization redirect When opening a URL like /#/?search=foo§ion=bar (no version segment), the LocationProvider redirects to /#/<latest-hash>?v=<name> and the resulting hashchange used to fire a second handleHashChange that read undefined for both fields and wiped state before Search/Outline could consume it. The redirect now opts in to keeping ?search/?section in the rewritten URL via locationParamsToHash's new includeSearchSection flag, so the second pass reads the original values and state survives. Subsequent navigation goes through the default path and still drops these fields, matching the existing "consume once" semantics. Adds e2e coverage in tools/snapshot-tests/tests/url-params.spec.ts. * test: mask PDF region in visual regression snapshots The PDF.js canvas occasionally renders a few pixels off between otherwise identical runs. Because a positional shift moves every glyph edge, it changes a band of pixels around all text and reliably trips the 2% pixel-diff threshold, making the snapshot suite flaky. Rather than loosening the global threshold (which would also blind us to real layout regressions of the same magnitude), mask the PDF viewer(s) out of the layout/chrome snapshots. The surrounding UI keeps the tight tolerance; the inherently non-deterministic PDF region is ignored. - Add maskedPdfScreenshot(page) helper masking .pdf-viewer-root (matches both the main viewer and the split-pane viewer) - Apply it to all full-page snapshots in basic/split-screen/narrow-screen specs (clip-based notes-tab shots already exclude the PDF, left untouched) - Regenerate the linux baselines Trade-off: these tests no longer detect PDF *render* regressions (wrong page, blank canvas, broken scale) — only that it loads. A dedicated PDF-render test with its own looser tolerance could restore that coverage if wanted.
