Late or duplicate responses to completed subagent prompts no longer fail the parent session.

Why

A parent can retain a proxied input-request route after its child completes and disposes its continuation hook. A response delivered during that window reached resumeHook, raised HookNotFoundError, retried three times, and failed the parent session.

A focused regression test reproduced the failure on main by routing through the stale proxy entry after child hook disposal.

Approach

Because a missing proxied child hook means that route can no longer accept the response, catching HookNotFoundError at the routing boundary should let the parent's existing stale-response handling process it.

The routing step now:

  • preserves responses that no live child accepted
  • removes responses accepted by live children
  • propagates other child-delivery failures
  • applies descendant cancellation only after the target child accepts the response
  • retains undelivered responses across both active-turn and driver cancellation paths

Fixes #1608.

Validation

  • before: the focused regression rejected with HookNotFoundError
  • after: 82 focused unit tests pass
  • related subagent HITL integration tests: 3 pass
  • pnpm --filter eve typecheck
  • formatting, lint, invariant guard, and git diff --check
  • full unit run: 5,912 pass; 3 unrelated import-heavy tests exceeded the shared 5s timeout and all 45 tests in those files passed on focused rerun
