Deprecated in favor of https://imgproxy.net/

This was a learning expriment that served me well and still powers ReadBot.app but I won't have the time to maintain this any further.

Introduction

Helper for https://readbot.app

A web service that removes the colors of an image and caps its width to 600px (max width of a kindle device)

Usage:

https://<service-url>/link=<image-link>

Develop

cargo build
cargo run

Legend:

  • ? indicates that I don't know anything about that and can't make a decision yet (If you know, please feel free to change it via a PR).
  • Everything else is where I know something, just enough to make a first wild guess. By no means it means that I know a lot about that image processing function.
  • (x, y) is a tuple representing multiple get parameters or their types or values
