On SDN Developer Lab, hit your browser's 'refresh' button. Check the devices table. Switches will indicate their connected status.
If the connection between the switch and SDN Developer Lab controller is ever broken (via power down of switch, or network disconnect) then you will only need to start the switch and then go to SDN Developer Lab and click 'Reconnect Device'.
