Summary

  • disclose that installation migrates native-addressable local Codex tasks, not older signed-in ChatGPT chat-history rows
  • prevent zero local inventory from being described as proof that every visible sidebar row changed
  • keep visual and computer-use checks restricted to explicit debug/release canaries

Why

After the v2.1.6-dev controller reported 332/332 applied and migration_complete, a live sidebar screenshot still showed at least 17 unprefixed chat-history rows. Read-only reconciliation found only the iconed local duplicates in Codex's local thread database. The visible bare rows belong to signed-in chat history, for which the current native task tools expose neither pageable inventory nor a verified explicit-target title contract.

The installer must state this boundary before consent and repeat it at completion instead of presenting local convergence as complete sidebar migration.

Verification

  • cmp -s INSTALL.md site/install
  • go test ./...
  • go test -race ./...
  • go vet ./...
  • git diff --check
