Installation

Launch the installer

Boot to the image you just flashed:

  1. Power ON your Device with the Storage Device and Network Device plugged in.
  2. The installer may reboot your system once to install some required packages.
  3. Then you should be welcomed with the installer's main menu.

Connect to a network

  • If you are using Ethernet, wait until you see Internet Connected on the top right corner.
  • If you are using WiFi, head to Network Options -> Connect to a WiFi and connect your device to a WiFi with internet access.
  • (If you have installed a supported WiFi adapter but still unable to setup WiFi, head to Network Options -> Change WiFi adapter and make sure it is set to the correct WiFi interface)

Install Arch Linux

  • Now, once internet is connected, hit Install Arch Linux.
  • If an update is available, hit Update this Installer, it will install the updates and reboot. Now, hit Install Arch Linux again.

Setup User, Language & Time Zone

  • Now, select your preferred language, time zone, and user account settings.

Select Kernel & Desktop Environment

  • Now, select a Linux Kernel to be installed.

Notes: Select the (Recommended) option if you are not sure about which kernel to choose.

  • Next, select your favourite Desktop Environment to be installed.

Installation Summary

  • You will see an overview on what will be installed before the installation begins, hit Install to begin installation.
  • If you changed your mind or missed something, you can always hit Cancel to start over.

Troubleshooting

  1. If your first boot shows a user login screen instead, login to root/root and run installer.

  2. If you get stuck while rebooting, unplug the power and power it on manually.

  3. For WiFi support, please refer to linux-firmware, USB WiFi Support & Joshua's firmware (for rockchip SBCs) for supported WiFi adapter.

  4. During the installation, your system may reboot serveral times.

  5. Sometimes you may need to connect to WiFi again after a reboot.

  6. After the installation finishes, you will need to connect to WiFi again.
