1. Getting started
See our public beta page for how to get Tact for macOS or iOS.
When you launch Tact for the first time, you don’t need to sign in or create an account. Tact uses your iCloud account. If you have iCloud on your device, you are already signed in to Tact.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, Tact tells you so, and you cannot continue.
The only thing that you need to do when getting started with Tact, is to set your name. It may be your real full name, but it does not have to be—it can also be your first name, nickname, pseudonym, initials, or anything else that you choose.
You can also set a picture. This is optional.
Your name and picture will be shown to other Tact users when you make connections with them. It’s best if your name and picture are something that others recognize. Note, though, that they are not verified—other people may set the same name. To make sure that you are connecting with the right people, you should check with them outside Tact when you make connections.
You can edit both your name and your picture later in Tact settings.
Ask and answer questions, provide feedback, and engage with the community in Tact public discussions.
