Finding and attaching macOS crash logs

When Tact crashes on macOS, it saves a crash log locally to your computer. When reporting crash bugs, please attach the crash report. For privacy reasons, Tact does not upload the crash log automatically.

To get the crash logs:

  1. Turn on developer settings. You will see a new “Developer” menu appear.
  2. From the Developer menu, select Open Crash Reports Folder. You will see a new Finder window open, containing your crash logs. Attach the relevant crash log to your bug report.

The crash logs are produced with plcrashreporter. They are not human-readable by default, but if you are so inclined, you may use the tools provided by PLCrashReporter to decode and inspect them yourself.
