- Every warehouse is broken down into locations where the products are stored. The smallest location in a warehouse is referred to as a Slot. According to industry standards and best practices, every Slot needs to contain only one type of product. For us to organize slots inside a warehouse, they need to be grouped. The Location Areas menu allows us to create the groupings for all Slots inside the warehouse.
- The highest-level grouping for locations is a Zone. For example, a zone can be dry, frozen or chilled zone depending on the type of products being stored in the zone.
This screen displays the lists of Zones.

- Each zone is then further divided into aisles. To view and manage the aisles of a zone, one can select the zone and click the Aisles button.

- Each aisle is then further divided into bays. To view and manage the bays of an aisle, one can select the aisle and click the Bays button.

- Lastly, each bay is then further divided into slots. To view and manage the slots of a bay, one can select the bay and click the Slots button.

- A slot is made up of a bin and level. The Level value is only required if working in a vertical warehouse that has racks going up. The combination of Zone, Aisle, Bay, Bin and Level make up the full name of the slot.
