Slots

  • The Slots Manager menu option can be used to manage all Slots across the entire warehouse, regardless of the zone, aisle or bay. As mentioned above, each slot is made of the following location groupings: Zone, Aisle, Bay, Bin and Level (optional i.e. only required if working in a vertical warehouse that has vertical racks). Furthermore, it manages the inventory in each slot showing you the products in each slot and pallet that is in the slot.

This screen displays the lists of slots.

Import

  • due to a warehouse containing so many slots, creating them manually on the website individually can prove to be a cumbersome task. The import function can be used to import the slots from a CSV file with a predefined format. Clicking the Import button will allow you to select the CSV file to import. Upon clicking OK the import process will begin on a background job on RabbitMQ to read the file and begin importing all the slots. N.B. leaving the Check Digits empty for a slot will cause NStock to generate a random number to set as the Check Digits. The length of the check digits can be configured on the NStock import service’s application settings.
