Bulk pick is the movement of a full pallet to the dispatch area for items on sales orders that have a quantity greater than or equal the quantity of an entire pallet.
• Rules: the following rule/s will be used to determine which pallets will be taken to the dispatch area and which will be taken to the pick face. o A full pallet for letdown will be directed to the designated delivery location dispatch lane. o The remaining case quantity requirement will be directed to the assigned pick slot. • Example: o Order qty = 200 o Pallet qty 75 o The calculation is 200 /75 = 2.6 to the fine pick qty for that order. o The replenishment will allocate 2 pallets to the loading staging area and adds the remainder (0.666666666666667 *75= 50) to the pick quantity. The bulk replenishment consolidates all the full pallet products qty to move them the load staging area grouped by item split by order.
A bulk pick task is created for each pallet that needs to be moved a from bulk slot to a pick face.
The system will create picking assignments for items with quantities that are less than entire pallets. These items will be picked from the pick faces. The items on the order will be grouped into an assignment. One or more picking assignments will be created for each sales order with multiple line items per assignment. N.B. There will be one picking assignment per zone in the warehouse i.e. if a sales order has items that are stored in three different zones in the warehouse (dry, chilled and frozen) then there will be three picking assignments created for the sales order. However, each picking assignment will only contain items for one specific order. This is known as pick to order.
Each picking assignment will be completed assigned and completed by one operator by going to each slot mentioned on the line item and picking the required quantity for the item from the slot. Once an order has been full picked (via fine or bulk pick) the status of the sales order needs to be set to Completed if all the picking assignments and tasks are completed.
